What we collect
We collect information in two ways — what you give us directly, and what we gather automatically when you interact with our site. We only collect what we genuinely need to provide a good experience and run our business responsibly.
Information you provide directly:
- Name, email address, and date of birth (required for age verification);
- Shipping and billing address;
- Payment information — processed securely through our payment provider; we never store full card details;
- Messages and inquiries submitted through our contact form or by email;
- Marketing preferences and communication opt-ins;
Information collected automatically:
- IP address, browser type, and device information;
- Pages visited, time spent on site, and navigation patterns;
- Referring URLs and search terms used to find us;
- Purchase history and browsing behavior on our site;
How we use it
We use the information we collect to run our business, serve our customers well, and improve over time. We don't use it for anything we wouldn't be comfortable telling you about directly.
- Orders & fulfillment: Processing purchases, sending confirmations, managing shipping and delivery, and handling returns or refunds.
- Customer support: Responding to your questions, resolving issues, and following up when something needs our attention.
- Age verification: Confirming you are of legal drinking age before granting access to our site and enabling purchases.
- Marketing: Sending newsletters, product updates, and promotions — only when you've explicitly opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Site improvement: Understanding how visitors use our site so we can make it better — faster, clearer, and more useful.
- Legal compliance: Meeting our obligations under applicable laws, including alcohol regulations and data protection requirements.
Sharing your data
We share your information only with the third-party service providers that help us operate — and only to the extent necessary for them to do their job. Every partner we work with is contractually required to handle your data securely and solely for the purposes we've outlined.
These may include:
- Payment processors (e.g. Stripe) to handle transactions securely;
- Shipping and logistics partners to fulfil and deliver your orders;
- Email platforms to send order confirmations and marketing you've opted into;
- Analytics tools to help us understand site usage and performance;
- Legal or regulatory bodies, when required by law;
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for their own marketing or commercial purposes. Full stop.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device that help websites remember you and understand how you use them. We use cookies to keep our site functioning, personalise your experience, and gather analytics that help us improve.
You can manage or clear cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that disabling non-essential cookies may affect some features of the site.
Minors
Twofold is an alcohol brand. Our site is intended exclusively for individuals of legal drinking age in their country or jurisdiction of residence. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the legal drinking age.
Our age gate is designed to prevent minors from accessing the site. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from someone who is underage, we will delete it promptly. If you believe this has occurred, please contact us at privacy@drinktwofold.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have a number of rights regarding your personal data. We take these seriously and will respond to any request within 30 days.
- Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including how it's being used and who it's been shared with.
- Correction: If any information we hold is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to request that we correct it.
- Deletion: You can ask us to delete your personal data. We'll comply unless we're required by law to retain certain information.
- Opt-out of marketing: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly.
- Complaints: If you feel your rights haven't been respected, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Data retention & security
We keep your data only for as long as it's needed — to fulfil your order, provide customer support, comply with legal requirements, or improve our service. When data is no longer necessary, we delete or anonymise it.
As a general guide:
- Order and transaction data is retained for up to 7 years for tax and legal compliance;
- Marketing preferences and email engagement data are retained for as long as you remain subscribed;
- Analytics data is aggregated and anonymised after 26 months;
- Support communications are retained for up to 3 years;
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information — including encrypted connections (SSL/TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews. That said, no system is entirely foolproof, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or applicable law. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also notify you by email if you've opted into our communications.
We encourage you to review this page periodically so you're always up to date on how we handle your data.
